CRT Mission Statement

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

The Nyssa Community Resource Team is seeking 10 to 12 team members in each of the following areas;

Industrial – team members to assist in the planning, resource development, and accomplishment of a small industrial park that will bring good wage employment opportunities to our community. If would like to see good jobs in Nyssa, this is the team for you!

Residential – team members to assist in reviewing planning and zoning of our community especially regarding the residential, industrial, and Urban Growth boundary, to insure that Nyssa has plans that enable the community to provide for healthy growth and development. If you want to see property values that are solid with communities that are secure and supportive, this is the team for you!

Retail – team members assist to increase the health of businesses in downtown Nyssa. If you have a retail business in Nyssa, or enjoy shopping for unique and special items at a super value, this is the team for you!

The Nyssa Community Resource Team –

Our purpose – To provide resources that support improving the quality of life in the Nyssa community.

Our Goal – a small community with welcoming public and residential areas, meaningful employment opportunities, and a healthy business climate.

Values – family, friendship, honesty, faith, education, work, trust, respect, service and recreation.

Our Organization – We are a group of volunteer citizens. We support the City Council, Chamber of Commerce, and others as partners toward community improvement. We do not attempt to create public opinions, but seek to understand and define the desires of the community so that we may create resources that move in that direction.

Areas of focus – INDUSTRIAL, RESIDENTIAL, AND RETAIL.

CRT Project adds Beauty to Downtown Nyssa

The Nyssa Community Resource Team (CRT) has completed the hanging of flower baskets in the downtown Nyssa area. This major project to improve the appearance of the downtown area has been a project of the Nyssa Community Resource Team. This team, compromised of community leaders, business leaders, and other city and organization members, has been working for several months to bring this project to completion. Individuals, businesses, and some community organizations made major contributions to purchase the flower baskets, and to provide the extensive care required to keep them healthy through the summer months ahead. Individuals who may be interested in joining in this project to improve the city may still do so by contacting Mr. Ted J. Iverson at the location listed at the end of this article.

The CRT is actively developing ideas for further community development, including other downtown beautification projects. The group is also currently developing plans for a monthly "Friday Night Community Activity" to be held in the downtown area. Musical entertainment, educational, historical, and fun city tours are being planned; and perhaps opportunities for food or other fun vendors may be available. More information should be available through the CRT soon.

The CRT is an organization which came into being several years ago with a goal of city improvement. In recent months the organization has been re-invigorated with increased membership and positive leadership. CRT Plans Summer Events

Plans are currently being developed for the "Third Friday" evenings events.

These may include a farmer's market, various fun events such as family hay wagon rides and history tours, In addition, music activities and presentations are being planned for the community's entertainment. It is hoped that fun and interesting activities for the entire family will be available.
