The Nyssa Streets Department is staffed by two employees, who also staff the Parks Department. These two energetic city employees, Duane Petty and Olivia Martinez, are responsible for maintaining over nineteen miles of city streets.

Routine maintenance tasks include street sign installation and repair, repainting of all established pavement markings, excavating and repair of deteriorating street areas and of street disruptions due to construction activity, and street sweeping. A program of chip sealing and pavement replacement has resulted in steady improvement of Nyssa streets during recent years. Winter maintenance also may include snow removal and street sanding and storm water drainage clearing. Beyond a doubt, these two hard-working people are helping to make Nyssa a better community!
