The City of Nyssa has several beautiful and well maintained parks. Three of the parks are located in residential areas. The fourth park is located on the Snake River and is used for river navigation and for access to the very popular river fishing activities.
South Park is the largest of the three city parks. It is located on the South side of town, with access from 5th Street, 7th Street, King Avenue, and Reece Avenue. South Park contains areas including a wonderful Picnic Area, a large children's play area is coming soon, and several large ballfields often filled with youth sports teams. Restroom facilities are usually open except during winter months.
Lions Park is located in the west part of the city, accessed from 8th Street, 7th Street, or Park Avenue. A covered picnic area adjoins a furnished play area for children, including basketball courts. A large lawn area may be used for recreation. Lions Park does not currently have restroom facilities.
North Park is located in the north part of Nyssa, accessed from 4th Street, 5th Street, Walnut Avenue or Locust Avenue. This park contains a baseball/softball field with dugouts, bleachers, and is beautifully maintained. This field is often used to host summer baseball games and tournaments. A small chilcren's play area is located at the northeast corner of the park. Restrooms are available except during extremely cold winter weeks.
Nyssa River Park is located at the eastern edge of Nyssa. Situated on the Snake River, the park is accessed from Main Street, which becomes Highway 20-26 as it leaves Nyssa. The park includes a boat launch facility, pull-through parking for vehicles and trailers, a small rest area complete with restrooms. [Overnight parking is not allowed at River Park, but RV Parks are located nearby.]
